Lovers day telugu movie review

lover’s day, the telugu dubbed version of the much talked about malayalam campus drama, oru adaar love, has finally hit the screens this morning as a valentine’s day treat. The film has been in the news since last year thanks to winking sensation Priya Prakash Varrier. let’s see how the movie fared.

history:

Valentine’s Day takes place entirely at Don Bosco High School, where Priya (Priya Prakash Varrier) and Roshan (Roshan Abdul Rahoof) join as students plus one. the story spans 2 years and shows the love, friendship and jealousy between the teenagers who attend the school. Valentine’s Day is primarily a love triangle between Priya, Roshan, and Gatha John (Noorin Shereef), and how this all plays out is the rest of the story.

positive points:

The highlight of Valentine’s Day is Noorin Shereef, the curly-haired girl who plays Gatha John, Roshan’s best friend. She breathes energy into the otherwise mundane story with her bubbly performance and her beautiful looks.

the chemistry between priya and roshan in a couple of scenes in the first half of the film will captivate young audiences. priya looks cute and gives a decent performance in the given character.

roshan is a good find. he has a knack for acting and also dances well. With the right makeover and character, you’ll leave a strong impression in the future.

negative points:

The lack of a solid story is the main drawback of Valentine’s Day. the script is lethargic and seems to be an incoherent and chaotic mix of a series of scenes in the name of friendship and love between teenage students.

those hoping to see priya prakash in the front seat are in for a big disappointment. None of her scenes with Roshan, except for the breakup scene in the second half, leave a strong impression.

comedy scenes with the group of friends and the faculty almost never fail to provoke laughs. the romantic hint between a student plus one and his biology teacher is absolutely cheap.

priya and roshan fall in love in the first 15-20 minutes of the film, but the twist in their love story comes only in the last 30 minutes of the film. most of the scenes that appear until then test the patience of the public. the climax seems forced and unnecessary. however, the ending will have audiences leaving theaters with heavy hearts.

technical aspects:

Production values look good, considering the film’s budget and all-star cast. some songs are very well composed and also look good on screen. the editing could have been much better, as a handful of unnecessary scenes made it into the final film.

verdict:

Valentine’s Day has a strong hangover from Happy Days and other movies of the similar genre. however, there is hardly a gripping story or funny moments to keep the feeling of dejavu away. an important part of the narrative wanders aimlessly. In general, Valentine’s Day, which is mainly aimed at teenage audiences and high school students, ends up being a boring watch this Valentine’s Day. You don’t lose much if you skip this movie. And if you plan to see it, keep your expectations low as the film doesn’t live up to the hype surrounding it.
