after the decent success of brother of bommali, allari naresh is back with another interesting bandipotu project. Directed by Indraganti Mohan Krishna, this movie has hit the screens today. let’s see how it is.
vishwa (allari naresh) is a swindler who keeps cheating the rich. one fine day, a girl named jahnavi(esha) meets vishwa and hires him to swindle three former best friends makrandam(tannikella bharani) seshagiri(rao ramesh) and bale babu(posani).
By accepting his proposal, vishwa manages to successfully fool two of the three friends. The twist in the story comes when Seshagiri and Makarandam find out about this and plan a counterattack. The rest of the story is about how Vishwa manages to escape this counterattack and successfully tricks the third friend Bale Babu.
with bandipotu, you can see a new and rejuvenated allari naresh. From his looks to his acting, Naresh has done a decent job and shows that he can carry a movie on his shoulders. all the scenes of his confrontation with rao ramesh have been well executed. The heroine Esha looks beautiful and she has played the character of her very confidently.
The main assets of the film are the performances of Tannikella Bharani and Rao Ramesh. both actors give a mature performance and bring the film to life. Posani brings some laughs and is good at playing him.
chandra mohan is fit in character and so is subhaleka sudhakar. the first half of the movie is pretty decent and has some interesting moments. the way naresh vs bharani and rao ramesh has been executed quite well.
the main disadvantage of the film is the lack of regular entertainment. Aside from a few scenes in the first half, Bandipotu is a bit short on mass comedy. All those who expect good humor and fun from naresh movies will be a bit disappointed with this movie.
sampoornesh babu is wasted on his role. Except for a brief scene in the first half, she is not seen anywhere in the film. bandipotu is a bit predictable and the twists and turns displayed are fine. the second half gets a bit serious and the proceedings take time to develop.
the heroine esha has absolutely nothing to do in the second half and is hardly present in the film. an item song comes out now and messes up the flow of the movie. certain logics are missing and many scenes lack clarity.
kalyan koduri’s music is good and all the songs have been shot exceptionally well. the production values are quite good as the creators have not compromised on the visuals. the script of the film is sharp and all the scenes in the first half have been treated in an interesting way.
director mohan krishna introduces naresh in a new dimension and extracts a decent performance from him. the dialogues are very good and fit the atmosphere of the film. the camera work is quite good and it presents the film in a decent light.verdict:-
Overall, bandipotu will be a new leaf in allari naresh’s career. With this film he proves that he can play a role backed by an author with aplomb. Naresh’s performance and an interesting build are core assets. if you go in with an open mind and forget about the typical comedic image of naresh, you might end up liking this different attempt.
