Ekkadiki potavu chinnavada movie review

After a short break, the young hero Nikhil is back with another interesting project, Ekkadiki Potavu Chinnavada. the horror comedy has hit the screens amid the currency ban and let’s see if it forces the audience to spend their precious money to watch the movie.

history:-

arjun(nikhil) is a visual effects supervisor with a bad love failure. one fine day, he brings his friend (vennela kishore) to be treated, as the latter is possessed by an evil spirit. there he meets nithya (hebah patel) and falls in love with her.

the twist in the story comes when arjun learns that hebah is also possessed and that someone inside her body forces her to do all these things. Things get even worse for Arjun when another character named Amala (Nanditha Swetha) approaches him as the one behind all of this.

what is all this confusion? who is this amala why is she after arjun? Is there a story behind all this? To find out the answers, you need to watch the movie on the big screen.

positive points:-

The story of the movie is quite interesting and the way the love of a spirit for an ordinary man has been executed well. Nikhil fits perfectly into the film and perfectly suits the innocent role of him. the young hero has matured with his performance and should be given credit for accepting a film that is story oriented and has significance for the heroines.

The last half hour of the first half is very exciting and ends with a superb turn in the interval. nanditha swetha does an excellent job as a spirit as all of her expressions and body language elevate the movie quite well. after the interval, the comedy scenes are executed well and all credit must go to satya and vennela kishore who provide good laughs.

hebah patel is decent in her role. the movie has some really good moments throughout and the second half is filled with some decent moments with the entrance of a special heroine and the love track from her. the twists shown during this time are quite interesting.

negative points:-

The movie needs serious editing as at least 15 minutes can be cut. the kerala episode and some of the comedy that ensues is heavily delayed and slows down the pace of the movie big time.

ekkadiki potavu chinnavada has a kind of rollercoaster feel to it. there are certain places where the movie becomes very entertaining and at the same time some scenes bog down the movie completely. the director takes his time establishing the story and this slows down the movie.

technical aspects:-

The film’s production values are excellent, and the decent camera work only enhances the proceedings. the art department should be credited for doing a good job like the priests and their setup shows up pretty well. shekhar chanda’s music should have been much better as there were so many possibilities. but his background score is impressive and helps proceedings.

referring to the director anand, he has done a pretty good job with the movie. his story is interesting and makes up for an interesting watch with some good twists and turns. if he had narrated the kerala episode in a more entertaining way and reduced the running time, the impact would have been much better.

verdict:-

nikhil has earned the image of making different movies and once again it proves itself with ekkadiki potavu chinnavada. the movie is really different from regular horror comedies and has some very interesting moments to look out for. decent comedy and some unexpected twists are the main assets of this movie. if he ignores some dull moments during the opening part of the first half, this movie makes up for a good viewing this weekend.
