Young hero Aadi, has proved himself as a talented hero in Tollywood. He is now back with his latest film Gaalipatam. Directed by debutante Naveen Gandhi, this film is produced by Sampath Nandi. Music of this flick has been a huge hit, and the film has hit the screens today. Lets see how it is.

history:-

karthik(aadi) and swetha(erika fernandez) are a happily married working couple. They even win the award for the best couple in their office and to celebrate this occasion, they plan a special party. but sadly, the party ends in a big mess when the couple gets drunk and ends up in a big fight.

During the course of the fight, they reveal about their previous lovers, Parineethi (Kristina Akheeva) and Aarav Reddy (Rahul). things take an ugly turn, and the two jointly decide to get a divorce. the rest of the story is whether they successfully break up and meet their respective lovers.

positive points:-

The main point in favor of the film is the chosen concept. It’s probably the first time in Tollywood, that a bold theme like this is dealt with. Sampath Nandi’s story itself is quite unique and portrays the lifestyle of today’s generation. the creators are to be commended for attempting such a bold film in the current commercial wave.

come to aadi, it’s a role tailor-made for him. he has improved immensely as an actor and has given an honest performance. the way he plays the role of him and portrays various emotions during the second half is quite brilliant. Coming to the heroines, Kristina Akheeva steals the limelight from Erika. Even though she is new to the language, the way she has expressed herself is quite good.

The first half of the movie is quite interesting and entertaining. the way the younger generation and some harsh realities of society have been portrayed is pretty good. Chammak comedians Chandra and Saptagiri get some laughs.

negative points:-

While the concept is bold, there are a few scenes where the creators have gone overboard. the second half of the movie deviates from the script and there are some unnecessary comedy scenes.

The way the climax has been handled is quite brave and may not go down well with the majority of the audience. Rahul has a simple role and he doesn’t have much to do in the movie. just as the film makes a serious point, the film moves to an unnecessary commercial area and gets a little bogged down.

technical aspects:-

The music of the film is the highlight. all the songs are quite good, and they have been well filmed as well. Sampath Nandi’s dialogue is top notch and strikes the right chords. The movie’s script is pretty good in the first half, but it bogs down a bit in the second.

director naveen gandhi handles the story of sampath nandi quite well and narrates it in an interesting way. editing is fine as many scenes could easily have been cut. the camera work is pretty good too, as are the production values.

verdict:-

Overall, gaalipatam is a pretty gritty movie in today’s age. gets its message across loud and clear, in a rather bolder way. Aadi’s mature performance and offbeat climax make this movie definitely worth watching.
