Video Tripura telugu movie review

After the huge success of geetanjali, director raaja kiran returns with another suspense thriller tripura. Starring the bubbly Swathi actress and Naveen Chandra, this movie has hit the screens today. Let’s see how the movie turns out.

history:-

tripura(swathi) is a typical village beauty who has strange dreams that turn out to come true in real life. Seeing Tripura’s medical condition, her father consults a psychiatrist (Naveen Chandra) in Hyderabad. During her treatment in the city, Tripura falls in love with Naveen and eventually marries him with the consent of her parents.

As time passes, Tripura continues to have these dreams, until one day she sees herself killing Naveen with a knife. What will she tripura do now? Will her fear come true? Will she really she will also kill her husband in real life? that forms the rest of the story.

positive points:-

Swathi is without a doubt Tripura’s biggest attraction. she sheds her girl-next-door image and takes on a serious role in confidence. she is exceptionally good at emotional scenes and portrays gorgeous expressions like a confused housewife.

naveen chandra is decent and performs well in a key role. the young actor is very good during the climax and brings a lot of depth to the film. the first half of the film and the various comedy elements during this time have been executed well.

sapthagiri is impressive with his comedy and manages to elicit decent laughs. the climax is quite engaging and the way all the twists are revealed is also good. rao ramesh is suitable as a main doctor.

negative points:-

Even though the suspense factor is maintained until the end, the proceedings are stretched too thin. there was absolutely no need to drag the film around for that long. The creators attempted to add certain commercial elements and introduced Shakalaka Shankar and Jaya Prakash Reddy for comic relief. the comedy episode that comes during this time is routine and spoils the flow of the movie.

The movie’s runtime is also an issue and a song in the second half makes things difficult. the story has a simple point and the complex script keeps the proceedings going on and on.

Not much clarity was provided on Swathi dreams and the episodes featuring them needed more depth. all those who feel that tripura is a horror movie will be disappointed.

technical aspects:-

the camera work is very good and it shows the locations excellently. the written dialogue is decent and so was the background score. the film’s music is sub-par and a romantic song in the second half could have easily been edited out. the filmmakers should have made the film even sharper, as suspense thrillers find it very difficult to sustain for so long.

The kona venkat script is pretty normal. adds too many scenes and veers off topic. Coming to director Raaja Kiran, it had a decent story with good suspense. it even starts the movie well and also ends it quite attractively. but halfway through, he goes a little crazy and loses focus on the script.

verdict:-

Overall, tripura has some interesting moments here and there. Swathi’s performance, concept and climax are core assets. but it is the narration that makes the film too long and spoils the exciting concept. Anyone who likes suspenseful thrillers will like it, but otherwise it’s a sub-par affair and you can watch this movie if you have nothing else to do.
