Continuing the trend of reviewing shows and movies on ott, today a telugu movie called iit krishnamurthy has hit small screens. the movie is available on amazon prime and let’s see how it goes.

history

krishnamurthy (prudhvi) arrives in hyderabad in search of his uncle. he files a police report but, surprisingly, finds out that his uncle is dead and was cremated by the police themselves. krishna does not believe this and goes on to find the cause. he is attacked several times and it is also the same time that a big company fraud takes place. what is the connection between these two cases? what happened to krishna’s uncle and what is the backstory? that forms the rest of the story.

The cliffhanger that is revealed at the end is quite good and has been handled well. the way the suspense is built with key scenes in the pre-climax was clear. comedian satya does a good job in the limited role of him. Stage actor, Vinay Varma lands a key role and does well as a cop. he is the best part of the movie and he is getting better with each movie.

maira doshi, the heroine is quite good in her role, but she doesn’t get a lot of screen time and is there just because. After a long time, Banerjee gets a good role and does him justice. the bgm of the movie is also quite impressive. the climax of the film has also been handled well.

negative points

One of the film’s biggest drawbacks is the jaded narration. the emotion that is required in a basic thriller is missing from the film from the start. the scenes are not exciting and the director fails to engage the audience with his narration. the investigative topic and what happened in the story, such things do not create any curiosity.

On this, the protagonist, prudhvi sleepwalks in his role. Although he is good in looks, emotions, and performance, he was a big inconvenience. The role of him and the way he finds the basic twist should have been attractive, but that’s not the case as the main character is pretty boring most of the time.

The pace of the movie is very slow and the romantic angle doesn’t work one bit. on this, the songs disturb the flow. logic is also valid for throwing. the raid scenes, the police investigation, all these aspects are boring and over the top.

technical aspects

The film’s production values are decent, as is the camera work. all the investigation scenes are well displayed along with the police setup. the music is boring and just derails the flow. the dialogues are decent and so was the production design. the editing is boring and at least ten minutes of the film could have been cut.

As for the director, sreevardhan, his story idea is good, but his selection of artists is pretty bad. on this, his narration has no hold. his script looks good on paper with a nice twist at the end. but to show that he hasn’t written a gripping script and this is where the movie goes all out.

verdict

Overall, iit krishnamurthy is a suspenseful thriller that fails to make an impact. the weak cast, boring narration, and slow pacing completely hamper the flow of the movie. Except for some interesting scenes in the second half and a decent twist at the end, this movie doesn’t have much to offer and ends up as a boring thriller.
