Video Cheekati telugu movie review

up late kamal haasan has been making some interesting movies and one of them is cheetaki rajyam. the action thriller finally premiered today after a huge round of promotions. now let’s see how it turns out.

history:-

diwakar(kamal haasan) is a secret agent in the narcotics department. he along with his colleague plan a secret deal and get some expensive drugs owned by the dreaded vital rao (prakash raj).

With no other choice, an annoying vital rao kidnaps diwakar’s son and demands that he return his package. the rest of the story is about how diwakar frees his son from the evil clutches of vital rao and where mallika (trisha) appears in this whole montage.

positive points:-

kamal haasan is the biggest asset in this action thriller. from her body language to her acting, everything is top notch. the way kamal gets into character with him and shows serious emotions throughout the movie is just outstanding. trisha is apt in the role of her and all the scenes of her confrontation with kamal are very good.

madhu shalini looks super cute in her little role and she does it justice. the first half of the movie is pretty daring and has some edge in the seat action episodes. the various twists that come during this time have also been executed well. Prakash Raj once again does an excellent job in the negative role of her and entertains the audience with her antics.

All the action sequences have been choreographed quite stylishly. the intense fight between trisha and kamal haasan looks amazing and has been shot superbly. the background score is another bonus as it takes the proceedings to another level.

negative points:-

Although there aren’t many dull points, the proceedings took their own time to wrap up during the second half. after an animated first half, the narration slows down a bit and makes certain scenes continue.

The climax of the film is also drawn out, as some unnecessary scenes spoil the feel of the film. the second half lacks the necessary twists and the story of the movie is quite simple and doesn’t have much to offer.

technical aspects:-

The camera work is top notch and shows the entire process in excellent light. the pub set shown in the movie is top notch and enhances the process in a big way. As stated above, the background scores are brilliant and Gibhran gets brownie points in this department.

dialogues are clear and the editing could have been a bit sharper in the second half. the script is pretty daring and the lack of songs also helps even more. coming to director rajesh jungle, he has done a good job and narrated this french remake in a decent tone and with many interesting moments.

verdict:-

Overall, checheti rajyam is a witty action thriller with interesting moments along the way. The racy first half, Kamal Haasan’s performance, and some stylized action episodes are great assets. on the other hand, a predictable story and a slightly prolonged second half spoil things a bit. all those who like action thrillers will end up loving it big time and otherwise it will finish like a decent watch this weekend.
