Video Isam movie review

kalyan ram wowed everyone when he showed off his six-pack looks in the ism preview. The Puri Jagan-directed action artist has finally released today after a huge round of promotions. Let’s see if Kalyan impresses in his new avatar or not.

history:-

satya marthanda(kalyan ram) is a quiet young man living in europe. he falls in love with alia (aditi arya) who is the daughter of a feared don javed bhai (jagapathi babu).

satya struggles to woo alia and just as both alia and javed bhai approve of their love affair, he cheats on them big time and heads back to india.

who is satya? what caught javed bhai’s daughter? how is satya connected with javed bhai? And what is the story behind all this? To find out the answers to these questions, you need to see ism on the big screen.

positive points:-

unsurprisingly, kalyan ram is a revelation in ism. from his toned body to his forceful acting, everything works out well for him. Credit must go entirely to Puri for showing Kalyan in a completely new avatar. the emotional outburst of the star hero in the pre-climax will leave you very impressed.

jagapathi babu looks dapper and gives a decent performance as a javed bhai. all the scenes between him and kalyan rm have been handled quite well. especially kareem beedi’s scenes have been written well.

the court scene that comes during the time leading up to the climax is the best part of the movie and full marks should go to puri for writing some tense dialogue about the corruption in the country.

negative points:-

the angle of corruption displayed seems a bit exaggerated in certain areas. once the twist is revealed, the movie becomes pretty predictable. the character of jagapathi babu is not handled well. especially the way he ends his role seems completely silly and spoils the climax.

The first half hour of the second half is rushed and doesn’t have many interesting scenes. Kalyan’s ideology and the way he performs his mission should have been well explained.

aditi arya is yet another inconvenience of the film. she looks pretty raw and a better heroine would have done wonders for the movie.

technical aspects:-

ntr arts production values are top notch. the impressive camera work shows the film in a whole new light. puri has done an excellent job of showing the tense moments of the court scene in a gripping way. the editing is skillful and so is the artwork. anup rubens’s music is average, but his background score elevates many scenes quite well.

referring to the director puri jagan, he has done a good job with the film. the way he narrated the story in an interesting way and showed kalyan ram needs a special mention. If he had handled the second half and he had finished the movie after the court scene, things would have been great for the movie.

verdict:-

Overall, ism is a very honest attempt at kalyan ram and puri. An impressive performance by the hero Nandamuri, the first half, and a gripping pre-climax are major assets. If you ignore the lackluster climax and a few rushed scenes here and there, ism is sure to impress those who love hard-core commercial performers with a good message.
