Video Nenu rowdy ne movie review

Continuing the trend of dubbing movies, another project hitting screens today is nenu rowdy ne. Starring the talented Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara, this film features music by Anirudh. Let’s see how the movie turns out.

Since his childhood, Pandu (Vijay Sethupathi) always dreams of becoming a troublemaker. Even though his mother is a strict police officer, he manages to become a small-time thug and cut deals without his mother’s knowledge.

on the other hand, kadambari (nayanthara) is a partially deaf girl searching for her father, who has disappeared after confronting a feared criminal named killi babji (parthiban).

One fine day, Kadambari meets Pandu and tells him his terrible story. Cupid hits Pandu and decides to help Kadambari at all costs. the rest of the story is about how pandu manages to find kadambari’s father and also confronts the mighty killi babji.

positive points:-

One of the film’s biggest selling points is the way the revenge drama is told in a fun way. there is a freshness to the way the proceedings are revealed to the audience. The love track between the main couple and the way vijay sethupathi plans the revenge drama, everything has been shown well.

Coming to performances, Vijay Sethupathi is tailor-made for this role and sets the house on fire with his antics. nayanthara looks beautiful and is very cute as the partially deaf girl. partiban is impressive in the negative act of her and the way she has exhibited herself is also quite new. pre-interval and interval burst are handled well.

negative points:-

As the twists are revealed in the first half, the second half is not much new and moves around a single point. the climax also becomes quite predictable and all the scenes that appear during this time don’t have much of an effect.

after the interval, the first fifteen minutes get stuck. Since the film is a black comedy, the satirical fun that is generated might not go down well with a certain part of the audience.

the film is devoid of usual commercial elements and may not go down well with mass audiences. the way important story points are transformed and revealed lacks clarity.

technical aspects:-

The camera work suits the mood of the film and shows off the rustic images well. Anirudh Ravichander’s music is a great asset to the film. all the melodies are quite lively and have been designed very well. credit must go to the way anirudh composed a unique background score for the film.

as for the director vignesh shivan, he has done a good job. the way he wrote his script and executed the revenge drama in a fun way is quite new and unique. but the way he has messed up the second half and makes the proceedings predictable is a bit disappointing.

Overall, nenu rowdy ne is a new age black comedy that is told with a unique style and broad comedy. Impressive performances from Vijay Sethupati and Nayanthara liven things up. but the lack of brightness and the predictable second half and certain silly scenes in serious situations spoil the fun to some extent. All those who like police comedies may like this movie, but others may watch it if they have absolutely nothing else to do. rating: 2.75/5 reviewed by 123telugu team
