Nani, the natural star, is at the height of her career and is back with a loving entertainer named ninnu kori. Directed by newcomer Shiva Nirvana, this film hit the screens today. let’s see how it is.
uma(nani) is a doctoral student at vizag who falls in love with pallavi(nivetha thomas). As time goes by, Pallavi also accepts Uma’s love and they, as a mature couple, decide to get married only when Uma establishes herself in her career.
but the twist in the story comes when pallavi’s father (murali sharma) suddenly arranges pallavi’s wedding to arun (aadi). With no other choice, both Uma and Pallavi are forced to separate, and Pallavi marries Arun.
what will uma do now? Will he try to win her love again? Will he be successful in his love life? What makes up the rest of the story?
with each film of hers, nani grows by leaps and bounds. ninnu kori shows the natural star in full swing as she delivers a steady performance. he is full of fun as a lover boy and evokes superb emotions during the second half. the basic pain, the mishap he receives and the way he fixes things in the end, all of these aspects have been beautifully displayed by him.
nivetha thomas also gives a riveting performance as a pallavi. no other actress could have pulled off a role like this. her chemistry with nani is quite good and gives a lot of depth to the proceedings. aadi is also good in her supporting role. she has equal importance in the film and shows a wonderful maturity throughout the film.
murali sharma is magnificent and his comedy angle with comedian prudhvi and nani in the second half is hilarious. the jokes about nri culture have been executed quite well. there is an underlying message to the film, as the audience is sure to connect with the proceedings with their loves at some point or another in the film.
Although the movie ends well, there isn’t much depth to the proceedings. a little more drama should have been induced in the climax, especially through the role of nani.
ninnu kori is a first class film and there is absolutely nothing for the mass audience. so all those expecting some crazy commercial elements like previous nani movies may be disappointed.
The film bears similarities to many Bollywood movies, as the director has cleverly used points from many Hindi hits in the past.
karthick ghattamaneni’s camera work is one of the film’s greatest assets. his photography brightens the proceedings and gives this romantic entertainer a touch of class. the way karthick lit certain scenes and showed off the american backdrop is just amazing. gopi sundar’s music is amazing as all the songs can be hummed.
Coming to director shiva nirvana, he makes an impressive debut. the way he has handled emotion throughout the film is quite interesting. his script is quite gripping as he narrates the movie with a lot of conviction. the way he has given importance to the institution of marriage is very good. if he had handled the climax a little more sensibly without rushing things, the result would have been even better.
Overall, ninnu kori is a very moving love story that is full of beautiful moments. what clicks in the film is a contemporary story that is well set in the current times and times. the great performances from the main cast, the amazing romance and the entertaining moments are big pluses for this movie. however, the climax is a bit mature and may not go down well with regular moviegoers and mass audiences. the film will do exceptionally well at centers a and abroad, but not at centers b and c. if you ignore a bit slow narration, this movie ends like a very entertaining watch with your whole family this weekend.
