Video Oye ninne movie review

Continuing the trend of low-budget movies, hey ninne is another romantic artist to hit screens today. let’s see how this movie turns out.

history:-

The story of the film is based on the lives of Vishu (Bharath) and Ammulu (Shrusti Dange). since their childhood, they grow up together and share a love-hate relationship. love blossoms between them when ammulu’s marriage is arranged with someone else. what will vishnu do now? How will the couple find out about their love for each other? will ammulu marry someone else? And how does Vishnu win her love? that forms the rest of the story.

positive points:-

Although the concept is quite old, the director’s narration is decent. It nicely shows the hate relationship between the young couple and evokes decent performances from the supporting cast.

The way the film is set in a small town seems appropriate. some familiar emotions shown in the film have been executed well. Even though it’s his first movie, hero bharath does a decent job and will surely get better with time.

nagineedu gets a decent role and does the best she can. comedian satya is the mainstay of the first half and conjures up some decent comedy during this time. the heroine shrusti looks good and gets emotional well too.

negative points:-

after narrating the first half decently, the director loses control and makes the movie go haywire. once the main couple realizes their love for each other, the movie takes ages to finish and many dull and silly scenes kill the interest in the movie.

the preclimax is unnecessarily prolonged and has no purpose. an unnecessary villain angle and comedy setting make the movie look over the top. Also, the story is quite predictable and doesn’t have many twists.

The chemistry between the main couple is completely missing, as the basic bond and love between the couple has not been elevated at all.

technical aspects:-

The film’s production values are very good. the cinematographer has very well shown the small town setting, the simple relationships and also the charming atmosphere. the film’s background music and score are also decent, as two of the songs sound good. the editing during the second half is quite weak, as at least ten minutes of the film should have been cut.

As for director satyam, he shows promise in his storytelling. although he chooses a routine story, the way he has executed the film in the first half is impressive. but he also falls for the commercial angle and unnecessarily drags the film after a point. If he had added an interesting twist and ended things well, the result would have been a little better.

verdict:-

Overall, hey ninne is a movie that starts out promisingly, but ends with lazy narration during the last part. the lack of depth in the main couple and the dragging scenes during the second half make things routine and boring. everyone who likes small town love stories can give this movie a try, but everyone else can take it easy and do something more interesting.
