Romeo telugu movie review

Romeo Release date : Oct 10, 2014 123telugu.com Rating : 2.25/5 Director : Gopi Ganesh Producer : Dorai Swamy Music Director : Sunil Kashyap Starring : Sairam Shankar, Adonika, Ravi Teja

Young hero Sai Ram Shankar, has been trying hard for a hit from quite some time now. He is back with his latest flick ‘Romeo’. Puri Jagan has penned the story and Adonika plays the female lead. Directed by debutante Gopi Ganesh, this film has hit the screens today. Let’s now see whether Sai gets his much needed hit.

history:-

The story of the film takes place in Rome, where a young American Indian woman, Samantha (Adonika), comes on vacation. Upon her arrival, she is enthusiastically followed by an Indian boy named Kittu (Sai Ram Shankar). As things progress, Kittu reveals a shocking truth to Samantha and forces her to go with him to India.

what is that shocking truth? why is kittu following samantha? what is the real story behind all this? To get answers to all these questions, you need to watch the movie on the big screen.

positive points:-

The story provided by puri jagan is quite interesting and the suspense factor in the first half hour is also good. sai ram shankar looks elegant and does a decent job of playing her. adonika has a meaty role and provides the necessary visual appeal.

The film’s production values are pretty good, and places like Rome and Verona have been exhibited pretty well. the film’s music is also decent and goes with the flow of the film. Ravi Teja’s cameo has been designed extremely well and brings much-needed comic relief to the film. subbaraju does a decent job in a cameo.

negative points:-

The main drawback of the film is the narration. although the story is quite simple, the execution part is miserable. Adonika’s character lacks justification most of the time. the way she dates a stranger and shows a carefree attitude in times of trouble doesn’t fit the plot.

The first half just rushes towards you abruptly. by the time you settle down with your popcorn and find out what’s really going on in the movie, it’s half the time. ali and jayasudha appear in only one scene and have no impact on the film.

technical aspects:-

As said before, the music in the film is decent and all the songs have been shot well as well. the movie’s script is awful as several scenes just don’t make any sense. the dialogues for puri jagan are quite good, and the ones written for ravi teja are very entertaining.

newcomer director gopi ganesh completely fails to execute puri’s script. the way she develops the chemistry between the main couple is far from convincing. the camera work is pretty good and it shows off the locations beautifully.

verdict:-

Overall, Romeo is a movie that fails mainly due to poor execution and a shoddy script. Sai Ram Shankar’s acting and some songs are the only positive points of this movie. puri jagan needs to think of something special this time to give his brother the hit he so badly needs.
