Video Shatamanam bhavathi movie review

the latest release of the sankranthi season, shatamanam bhavati has finally hit the screens. Starring Sharwanand and Anupama Parameswaran, this film is produced by Dil Raju. Let’s see how the movie turns out.

history:-

The film is set in the context of a small town called Atreyapuram. Raju Garu (Prakash Raj) lives a peaceful life together with his wife (Jayasudha) and his grandson Raju (Sharwanand). the only thing that bothers him is that his sons and his daughter, who live abroad, hardly ever visit him.

Upset by this, he makes a clever plan and calls all his family during the sankranthi festival. The twist in the story comes when Raju Garu’s wife finds out about her husband’s plan and gets very angry at her.

This is also the time when small disturbances infiltrate the family and create a tense situation. what is the real intention of raju garu? why did you make that plan? what went wrong in the family? To find out the answers to these questions, you need to watch the movie on the big screen.

positive points:-

One of the basic positive points of the film is the clean entertainment it has. the family drama seems quite natural and each character is designed as one of us. Unlike his previous films, Sharwanand plays a lovable role and impresses with her subtle acting and screen presence.

anupama parameswaran jumps at the golden opportunity and delivers an amazing performance. her pairing with sharwa and the couple’s chemistry seems quite nice. Unsurprisingly, the successful couple of Prakash Raj and Jayasudha carry out their roles with aplomb. his experience and screen presence adds a lot of depth to the strong emotions that are conveyed in the film.

naresh gets another interesting role and is impressive in character. the climax is also a good asset to the movie. the way family values are displayed during this time will be welcomed by every section of the audience.

negative points:-

Family dramas like these don’t have much in terms of plot. the same goes for shatamanam bhavati as there are not many interesting twists in the movie that can keep you hooked.

the plot is very thin and predictable for most of the movie. there are certain comedy scenes in the film that seem quite forced. the pacing of the movie gets a bit stuck during the second half and the scenes start to get a bit boring.

technical aspects:-

mickey j meyer’s music is excellent as all the songs have been beautifully shot. the camera work needs a special mention as the images look quite colourful. the small town setting, the romance and all the basic emotions have been beautifully displayed by dop sameeer reddy. the editing is fine and dil rjau’s production values are top notch. the dialogues are simple but quite meaningful.

As far as the director is satisfied, he has done a good job with the film. Even though he chose a very routine and old-fashioned story, the way he has shown the importance of family ties and respect towards his loved ones should be appreciated. If he had made the proceedings even sharper during the second half, the result would have been even better.

verdict:-

Overall, shatamanam bhavati is a clean family entertainment showcasing the various emotions parents experience when their loved ones stay away from them. strong family ties, lively atmosphere and natural performances are core assets. If you ignore the old-fashioned grind plot, this movie has some pretty decent moments that you can enjoy with your whole family this holiday season.
