Shekar telugu movie review

Video Shekar telugu movie review

rajasekhar has high hopes for his latest film, shekar. the film directed by jeevitha has been released today. let’s see how it is.

history:

shekar(rajasekhar) voluntarily retires from her job as a police officer but assists the department in its key investigations. One fine day, his ex-wife suddenly dies. Shekar has his own doubts about him and begins the investigation. surprisingly, he discovers that the death of his daughter (shivani) is also related to his wife. who is behind this and how will shekar solve the mystery? that forms the rest of the story.

positive points:

angry star, rajasekhar gets a makeover and this time he plays a mature role. he, as the elderly cop, looks good and deftly handles body language and dialogue delivery. the older hero is good at all the emotional scenes in the movie.

the heroine shivani has a cameo as the hero’s daughter and makes her presence felt. Abhinav Gomatam, Sameer and other supporting actors play her roles well. the inner turmoil facing shekhar’s character has been shown well.

The second half is where the real drama begins and the investigation scenes are good and shown in detail. the climax and the way the hero character ends look pretty good. prakash raj was clean in court scene.

negative points:

One of the biggest negatives is that the emotion needed for a suspenseful drama is lacking in key areas. thrillers have a great pace, but in shekar it’s slow. while there’s nothing wrong with the proceedings, the script is boring and doesn’t make the audience feel on the edge of their seats.

As the theme had good potential for drama, director jeevitha should have created more twists and turns to confuse the audience. but the movie takes place in a single thread and this seems simple to the viewer.

Also, the first half starts off on a good note, but rajashekhar’s love story and back-to-back songs deviate from the movie. If the filmmakers had narrated the film to the point with engaging drama, the result would have been even better.

technical aspects:

anup rubens music is quite good and his bgm was also impressive. the film’s production values are top notch and the skillful camera work only enhances the proceedings. dialogue and production design are neat. the editing is fine and the first half needs to be trimmed a bit.

referring to director jeevitha, she has done an acceptable job with this new malayalam version of joseph. Although she sets the movie in araku and also draws good performances, her script is not that attractive. she narrates the movie in a detailed manner without any deviation, but she lacks a bit of the necessary masala for a thriller with twists and turns.

verdict:

Overall, shekar is an emotional thriller that has a decent premise and capable performances. the story is good, but the necessary emotions and the slow pace are a bit lacking. If you ignore these factors, Shekar ends up being a passable watch this weekend.
