Review : Skylab – Dull and Boring | 123telugu.com

Skylab telugu movie review

skylab is a movie that has had a lot of promotion in recent days. the movie starring satyadev and nithya menen was released today let’s see how it goes.

history

The film is set in 1979 in the middle of a remote village in Telangana. This is also the time when a US based satellite fails and its debris is ready to fall on this small town in Telangana. how the characters played by satyadev, rahul ramakrishna and nithya menen are affected and how their world is changed by this news form the basic story of the film.

bonus points

The story of the film is quite unique and has been set quite well in a small town. the characters and their ideologies have also been well recorded by the director. the camera work and endearing small-town images are good.

satyaev plays a doctor and is good at it. satyadev has magnificently demonstrated his body language and the enthusiasm required in the role of him. tanikella bharani, the lady who played rahul ramakrishna’s grandmother was quite impressive.

nithya menen is amazing in her personalized role as author. she has lost weight and does a good job and directs the film. Rahul Ramakrishna is also neat in the role of her, who is tied down by family problems. all the scenes of him with satyadev are impressive to say the least.

negative points

Although the story and the characters are honest, the narration is where the film fails a lot. the story doesn’t take off until the halfway point and this makes the first half boring.

the director takes too much time to establish the different stories of the film. Though he had a good range for uplifting emotions and solid comedy, he misses it greatly.

Except for the last ten minutes, the characters don’t have much of an emotional connection. this is where you don’t relate to the characters much in the second half. also, the tension necessary when you know your life is going to end is completely absent in all the characters.

technical aspects

The production values are good and the background music is also neat. the camera work needs a special mention as the small town footage shows up well. the period backdrop is well displayed by the skillful production design. the editing is bad, since at least fifteen minutes of the film could have been cut.

as for the director vishwak khaderao, he has done a bad job with the film. even after having a solid premise, good actors, he couldn’t pull off the punch and made this movie slow and boring.

verdict

Overall, skylab is a movie that has an honest story and a good premise. but the narration is dull, lacks luster, and makes the proceedings lethargic. the slow pace is also one of the drawbacks and gives the proceedings a sort of art-movie feel. Ultimately, Skylab would have been a decent watch but for the big screen, it ends up being a painful watch to say the least.
