superstar krishna returns to the big screen with his latest film sri sri. Also starring his wife Vijaya Nirmala and his son Naresh, this movie has hit the screens today. let’s see how this movie turns out.
sri sri(krishna) is a law university professor who leads a happy life with his wife (vijaya nirmala) and daughter swetha. on the other hand, shwetha is a journalist for a famous tv channel and she stumbles upon a deadly scam involving bikshapati(posani) and jk(murali sharma).
she decides to take action against this and before approaching the police, jk and bikshapati’s sons brutally kill her. a very upset sri sri approaches the law but to his bad luck, all the culprits are released due to his political power.
sri sri, with no other choice, decides to kill them all. the rest of the story is how sri sri successfully completes revenge on him.
It’s a custom made role for Krishna and it suits his character perfectly. An interesting aspect is that the creators did not add scenes just to show Krishna as a star. the superstar is particularly good in all the scenes where she kills the culprits. Vijaya Nirmala is fit as the wife of Krishna and plays the secondary role of her well.
naresh has a very good role and is quite decent with his acting. the way she investigates the murder and all the scenes of her with krishna and vijaya nirmala have been executed quite well.
murali sharma and posani play their respective roles as required, but it is the female lead who has done a good job in the film. all the scenes of her with sai kumar and pruthvi are pretty good. the first half of the movie is quite impressive, with all the revenge episodes presented on an interesting note.
After a decent first half, the second part turns a bit disappointing. as the director covered most of the story for the first half, he wanders for most of the second part and doesn’t have much to show. he takes the movie into multiple flashbacks during this time and bores the audience with some very predictable and old-school scenes.
The concept and story of the film are quite old and predictable. right after the first half hour, you know exactly where the movie is headed. also, there are some logics that are lost in the movie in a big way.
the way naresh’s character behaves during the second half and his support for krishna leaves a lot to be desired. At least some scenes should have been shown to clear things up for the audience.
The film’s production values are good as the filmmakers have spent decent amounts to get both the town and the city right. the camera work is top notch as all the murder and investigation scenes have been shot well. the script is very impressive in the first half, but gets rebellious in the second half. editing is fine and so are the dialogues.
as for the director muuppalaneni shiva, he has done a good job with the film. being an experienced director, he executed the film within his limitations and did not hinder the experience. the only drawback in directing him is that he showed the movie on a very predictable note and didn’t show anything new or exciting.
Overall, sri sri is a movie that brings the big star krishna back to the big screen after a long hiatus. the film is neither bad nor good and is somewhere in between. The role of Krishna and some exciting emotions during the first half are basic assets. Anyone who wants to see the legendary actor in a good role and doesn’t mind the predictable plot can give this revenge drama a try.
