ted graduated summa cum laude in comparative literature from dartmouth college, attended the university of cambridge, the university of bordeaux & toulouse and the university of munich, graduated with a juris doctorate from new york university law school, completed his theological studies at the theological institute of st. John the Divine, she received a BA from Belhaven College and a Doctor of Divinity (TH.D.) from Primus University of Theology.

ted was president of the organization that produced the chronicles of narnia: the lion, the witch and the wardrobe for cbs-tv in 1980, with 37 million viewers and winning an emmy award. baehr has also produced hundreds of programs for pbs television and television networks around the world.
ted is president of christian film & ministry of television commission® (cftvc), a non-profit organization dedicated to redeeming the values of mass entertainment media by influencing the entertainment industry and informing and equipping the general public about the impact that mass media have in their audiences. the cftvc is the only active link between studio executives and the general public for family entertainment and christian faith.
ted is the publisher of movieguide®: the family guide to movies and entertainment. movieguide® magazine offers in-depth analysis of current movies from a biblical perspective. Not only does it directly address issues of violence, sex, and profanity, but MovieGuide® delves into the moral content, theology, and worldviews of the movies, videos, and TV shows it reviews. Ted also writes a syndicated column for publications across the country.
ted has been a featured guest on oprah, hannity and colmes, cnn, abc, fox news channel, msnbc, and entertainment tonight.
Armed with over 40 years of research on media and culture, ted lectures have seen him speak at the european parliament, the uk house of lords, the norwegian parliament, the institute University of Bombay, Yale University, Dartmouth College, the University of Virginia, U.C.L.A and many other prestigious institutions. baehr makes itself available to address many colleges, churches, and civic groups each year.
In 2005, Ted was named chairman of the advisory board of the Christian Institute for Media Studies, a new area of graduate academic study now advancing under the auspices of the Center for Arts, Religion, and Education ( Care), an affiliated center of the Graduate Theological Union (GTU) in Berkeley, California. he has also taught all over the world.
ted’s work has appeared in publications such as the wall street journal, the new york times, time magazine, usa today, the l.a. times, the washington post, hollywood reporter, the atlanta journal-constitution, and u.s. world news and reporting.
ctfvc sponsors the movieguide® faith & values awards gala and report for the entertainment industry, including two epiphany® awards for most inspirational movie and most inspirational tv show, as well as the $50,000 kairos prize® contest for spiritually uplifting screenplays by beginning screenwriters and established screenwriters. these awards honor movies, television shows, and screenplays that “greatly increase the love of man or the understanding of god.”
ted baehr was born in 1946, the son of robert allen and evelyn peirce, both successful actors on stage, film and television. Ted is married with four adult children and a growing number of grandchildren.
