Upendra 2 movie review

Video Upendra 2 movie review

the kannada star upendra, has a large following in tollywood. After a long hiatus, he is back with the sequel to his hit movie Upendra. Titled Upendra 2, this movie has hit the screens today. let’s see how it is.

The movie picks up where the first upendra part left off. everyone is looking for nenu (upendra) who reappears in a remote village with a new name nuvvu. His crazy philosophies and lifestyle attract a female press reporter named Lakshmi (Kristina Akheeva) in a big way and she decides to marry him at all costs.

The twist in the story comes when Lakshmi gets to know a unique story behind Nuvvu that is indirectly related to her property. what is that story who is this nuvvu? and what is he doing? To know the answers to all these questions, you need to see the movie on the big screen.

positive points:-

the main point in favor of the film is none other than upendra himself. Unsurprisingly, the superstar surprises you with her unique outfits and unconventional approach. it’s especially good during the first half and holds the movie together.

heroine kristina akheeva is decent in her role and manages to turn heads in all chaotic situations. certain philosophies shown through upendra’s character in the first half have been dealt with well.

negative points:-

upendra 2 is one of the most confusing movies of recent times. it’s very hard to keep track of what’s going on in the movie and one has special abilities to understand upendra’s logic and approach to life.

Even though viewers assume the film would have some bold dialogue and scenes, sadly, there is none of that in the film. the climax is super confusing and ends on a very unclear note.

upendra’s outfits and the movie’s tagline never reach the public. at one point, you seriously start to wonder what exactly is going on in the movie. the film loses rhythm, clarity and to top it off makes no sense.

technical aspects:-

the camera work is decent and it shows the movie pretty well. the production values are good and all the locations chosen look magnificent. Guru Kiran’s music is alright, but his background score is pretty good. the dialogues are in true upendra style and are forceful. Coming to upendra’s direction this time it lacks focus and narrates the movie in a very silly way. the script is the biggest drawback, as the procedures in the second half test your patience to another level.

Overall, upendra 2 is one of the most confusing and offbeat movies of the recent past. not once during the movie do the proceedings flow in one direction and irritate the audience for a short time. Upendra’s histrionics aside, this movie will test your patience to another level. If you’re curious enough and still want to go ahead and see what’s up in this crazy adventure, watch at your own risk. rating: 2.25/5 reviewed by 123telugu team
