‘Chiyan’ Vikram has teamed up with Deeksha Seth for this new flick titled ‘Veedinthe’. The film is the Telugu dubbed version of the Tamil film ‘Rajapattai’. Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored the music for this film. “Veedinthe’ has released across Andhra Pradesh today, so let us see how the film stacks up.

history:

veedinthe’s story revolves around the land-grabbing mafia and their atrocities. ‘Fire’ Shankar (Vikram) is a small-time movie fighter who wants to make it big as a villain in movies. He meets Dakshina Murthy (K. Vishwanadh) under unexpected circumstances. she takes pity on the helpless old man and takes him home.

Turns out this helpless old man is actually a wealthy businessman on the run from his own son (avinash). a prime property in the heart of the city is a point of contention. dakshina murthy runs an orphanage there in memory of his wife. That plot is coveted by an evil Ranganayaki politician Akka (Sana) and Dakshina Murthy’s son and they are ready to do whatever it takes to take over the land. shankar steps in and what happens next shapes the story.

positive points:

vikram looks macho as a fighting master. he has built his physique quite well and his fight sequences have come out well. he has also tried to show off his considerable acting skills towards the end as he dons various outfits in a short period of time.

deeksha seth looks innocent and cute as the girl next door, but he barely has scope in the movie. k. vishwanadh has made a very unique character in this movie. the audience will be surprised to find him in the role of a love guru, since people usually expect “worthy” performances from him. sana has done a good job as the evil politician ‘akka’.

negative points:

The movie was made with the sole intention of making it a commercial masala movie but unfortunately things go wrong from the first frame. the film is excessively noisy and there is absolutely no logic in many of the sequences. there is an excessive Tamil flavor to the film and it is not very easy for the casual moviegoer to digest. the comedians and the hero’s friends are all Tamil entertainers who will not be familiar to the Telugu people.

the script is very poor and the narration is bad. pradeep rawath has performed a routine performance. music is a big drawback for this film. neither song will stick with the audience and their timing interrupts the flow of the story.

the romance track between hero and heroine is incomplete and has been handled very poorly. deeksha seth has been wasted on this movie. Salon’s performance on item’s song fails to impress. she doesn’t have the ‘sizzling’ quality. the entertainment quotient is very low.

technical aspects:

the cinematography is fine. the background music is decent and the editing is average. the fight sequences are overly dramatic and very ‘arava athi’ in style. not much to write home about in terms of dances.

dialogues are average and get the job done. Suseendran’s direction is a huge drawback, considering the type of movies he’s done in the past.

verdict:

‘veedinthe’ is a film that has been made with the aim of making it a commercial masala offering. but it misses its target pretty badly. the entertainment quotient for the average moviegoer is very low. an overly dramatic feel and too much Tamil nativity limit the film’s appeal. there is nothing in the movie to get excited about. this is a disappointing movie.
