yet another hero from the mega family, chiranjeevi’s son-in-law kalyaan dhev has released his first movie vijetha which hit screens today. let’s see how it is.
srinivasa rao(murali sharma), who is a talented photographer, sacrifices his passion and keeps his family above all else. but his ram’s son doesn’t understand this and keeps wasting time hanging out with his friends. an unexpected twist creates a huge gap between father and son. The rest of the story is about how Ram becomes responsible in life and gains his father’s respect back from him.
you can’t imagine vijetha without murali sharma. The whole movie is centered around him and boy does he move you emotionally with his amazing performance that will connect with every parent and child. Murali Sharma’s performance in the climax is simply amazing and will surely make you cry.
mega hero, kalyan dhev makes a decent debut. even though he looks rough during the beginning, he relaxes and performs well in the second half. Kalyan has a decent screen presence and is sure to improve over time as he has good support in the form of the Mega Camp who will select good projects for him. the message that children take care of their parents when it matters most during old age is a good one and will inspire many.
The idea of the son making his father’s dream come true is well executed. the climax lifts things up in a big way and gives the movie a very emotional and happy ending.
as it is kalyan dhev’s debut film, the filmmakers have selected a simple and outdated story of how an irresponsible son fulfills his duties in life. there are many movies that have fallen into this genre.
The second half is where the movie falters a bit as there is no strong point of conflict as things become too easy for the hero. the scenes featuring satyam rajesh and how the gang goes about their gift business seem unnecessary and diverts the movie. Also, the love clue is weak and doesn’t make sense in the movie.
The film’s production values are good. senthil’s camerawork is decent as it shows the middle class set up in a good way. the dialogues are significant and especially the ones written for murali sharma are top notch and relate to the middle class setting. the film’s music is fine, but the background score was impressive during the climax. As for editing, certain scenes related to satyam rajesh should be cut immediately.
referring to the director rakesh rishi, he has done a decent job with the film. even though he picks a routine story, he adds good thrills at the right intervals and this is where the movie clicks. but, if he had added more drama between father and son, things would have been even more exciting for the audience.
Overall, vijetha is a father and son story with a good underlying message. kalyan dhev makes a decent debut and if he picks his draft right, things are looking good for him. On the other hand, story-wise, there is nothing new that you haven’t seen before. but the extraordinary performance of murali sharma will connect with all the family audience and will make them feel good when they leave the theaters.
