Veteran director Kodi Rama Krishna, has been associated with super hit films like Ammoru, Devi, Devullu and Arundhati in the past. After a long gap, he is now back with newcomers in a film titled Avataram. Produced by Yugendhar Reddy, Avataram has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.

history:-

goddess akkamma (bhanu priya) stays on eight hills, and all her powers are protected by certain evil powers called ‘gharula kota shakthulu’.

To free akkamma from these evil powers, anyone born in ‘simha rasi’ must sacrifice himself. a group of four sisters, who grow up under the goddess akkamma, sacrifice themselves and free the goddess from these evil powers.

As the sisters help the goddess out of her predicament, Akkamma accepts them as her sisters and the five of them begin to protect the village. During this time in the same village, a lady named Rajeshwari (Radhika) prays to these five sisters.

at the same time, a feared monster, karkotakudu (sathya prakash), lands on earth. he decides to damage and seize the land, but realizes that he would die at the hands of rajeshwari, who was born in ‘simha rashi’.

how will he plan to kill rajeshwari? will the mighty goddess save rajeshwari from karkotakudu? To know all the answers, you need to watch the movie on the silver screen…

positive points:-

The first ten minutes of the film are very entertaining. the way in which the forces of evil have been displayed, needs a special mention. at the same time the last ten minutes which is based on lakshmi narasimha swamy is also quite interesting.

another great point in favor of the film is the female lead radhika. although she is a newcomer, she has done exceptionally well in the film. Radhika is pretty good at all the sentimental and emotional scenes. the graphics in the first five minutes of the movie are decent.

negative points:-

Movies like these need extensive graphics and visual effects. Except for the first five minutes, the graphics throughout the movie are horrible. Since the movie runs on full graphics and has pretty ordinary visual effects, one would be deeply irritated by the result.

even the concept of the movie is quite old and outdated. kodi rama krishna has skillfully selected some important points from his previous movies and created a story for avataram.

the climax of the movie is also a parody of the previous kodi devullu movie. the role of the villain doesn’t seem threatening enough and the main role of rishi doesn’t have much justification either.

The second half of the movie is quite long. several scenes could easily have been cut to make this movie sharp.

technical aspects:-

none of the technical aspects are worth mentioning. the camera work is pretty bad and so are the visual effects. As stated above, the editing is horrible and several scenes could easily have been cut.

The only saving grace in this department is Chinna’s background score. Kodi Ramakrishna’s direction leaves a lot to be desired. the way he picked up some good points from his previous movies and tried to execute in this movie hasn’t worked at all.

verdict:-

Overall avataram is a movie which is a crazy combination of previous kodi ramakrishna movies. Except for Radhika’s decent performance, this movie has absolutely nothing new to offer.
