When is the next dr strange movie coming out

Doctor Strange 3 has yet to be confirmed by Marvel, but with the sequel grossing nearly a billion dollars at the box office, we have no doubt there will be a third film.

“I would love to do another one. Doctor Strange is such a complex character and there seems to be so much more to explore with him,” Benedict Cumberbatch told the New Indian Express in June 2022.

The sequel, which is now available to watch on disney+, has caused a lot of debate among fans with its shocking ending and, in true james bond fashion, the end credits tell us that “doctor strange will return”.

since stranger has appeared in other mcu outings, such as spider-man: no way home, this could mean only appearances in other movies. however, we’d be very surprised if doctor strange didn’t get a third solo outing like so many heroes have.

Marvel has locked down some upcoming release dates in 2024, when the third film could technically debut. are: February 16, 2024, May 3, 2024, July 26, 2024, November 8, 2024.

However, we think a two-year turnaround is too soon, so we may have to wait longer for the third movie. we’ll update this whenever we hear more.

There would be no Doctor Strange 3 without Benedict Cumberbatch as Steven Strange. Most Marvel stars have completed three solo outings before hanging up their spandex. Chris Hemsworth as Thor is the only exception, having made it to four so far.

Also, it’s hard to imagine a third part without Sorcerer Supreme Wong, and since he tends to appear in other MCU movies, we have a feeling Wong will be around for some time.

As for wanda aka scarlet witch, played by elizabeth olsen, her history with doctor strange feels pretty wrapped up, and there’s also the whole thing that she might be dead after the events of the sequel.

“It’s weird that I’m hoping to come back, but no one has told me I’m doing anything! But in my mind, I’m just assuming they’ll have me back. I don’t know what capacity, but I hope to be back,” Olsen said about his future mcu.

“I hope there’s also more fun in something different. Where are we going? I feel like we’ve done a lot with her. It’s been a really wild couple of years with her.”

That doesn’t stop him from appearing in other movies, especially since we haven’t had any confirmations yet about a Young Avengers movie (which is where he’s most likely to take a prominent role).

“I would love to continue playing her, of course. I’m excited to see what the MCU has in store for her and the growth of her character,” Gomez told Digital Spy.

The mid-credits scene sees the arrival of Charlize Theron as Clea, Strange’s love interest and eventual wife in the comics. she wants her help to fix a raid he created with her mischief in the multiverse, and he agrees to help.

so theron will definitely be back in part 3 (should that happen of course) and he might show up in other projects as well.

doctor strange 2 writer michael waldron said that clea’s arrival was planned to end strange’s relationship with christine.

“They have a lot of great adventures in comics, and we knew we wanted to feature her, but we felt we had to close the book to some extent on her love affair with rachel mcadams’ character christine palmer,” he noted.

As for the rest of the mcu’s ever-expanding cast of characters, take your pick! even the dead! the possibilities of the multiverse are endless! God help us all.

Behind the scenes, there is no indication of who will return. Scott Derrickson directed the first film and was set to direct the sequel, but Sam Raimi took over midway through its development.

unless addressed before the third movie, this will likely form the basis of the next doctor strange movie. on the other hand, we thought the same about the mordo advance in the post-credits scene of the first movie, but that hasn’t come true… yet.

as far as what else the threequel will be about, it could be anything now that the multiverse is absolutely a thing in the mcu. the possibilities are literally endless and the threequel could very well be affected by many other mcu projects.

There’s plenty of comic book fodder left to marvel at, and plenty of multiverse shenanigans to get into if you so choose.
