“Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” now in theaters, leaves the fate of Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) up in the air.
The last time we saw the scarlet witch, she was taking down the darkhold castle on wundagore mountain. fans are led to believe that she may have tragically died along with him.
It certainly takes more than that to kill off one of the most powerful characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, right? If you’re hoping to see Wanda again in her own spinoff movie, star Elizabeth Olsen says not so quickly.
“There’s no plan and I’m serious,” Olsen said during an interview with “Good Morning America” when asked by Michael Strahan if his character will get his own movie.
“i’m not a good liar. i wish i had a plan and i’m not sure,” olsen said, adding that “the multiverse of madness” i’m so excited for fans to see this movie because it’s so different than what they’ve seen and I’m very curious to hear what they want next because I think it’s a very amazing movie.”
olsen is right.
“multiverse of madness” is full of surprises as olsen’s character becomes a villain in the sequel to “doctor strange”, brutally killing several characters in hopes of a chance to reunite with his twin sons.
“I think the ending is quite shocking,” Olsen said. “Fans are usually the most story savvy when it comes to these deep comic book stories that I’m not that familiar with. So I’m curious what they would want.”
olsen added that she is “open” to the idea of appearing in her own standalone marvel movie in the future “as long as the story is good.”
If you’re hoping that Wanda might make a cameo appearance in Disney+’s upcoming “House of Harkness” series with Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness, Olsen said she doesn’t know anything about appearing in that upcoming show yet, either.
“I’d do anything with hahn,” Olsen said before adding, “I’m not going to be in it, not that I know of.”
“I hope Kevin is watching,” Olsen added, referring to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.
