Where is the best seat in a movie theater

Where is the best seat in a movie theater

Fortunately, long gone are the days of rushing to movie theaters to make sure you get a good seat. no more standing in line waiting at the box office to buy movie tickets. reserved seats and buying your movie tickets in advance ensure you get the seat you want.

but that begs the question: what is the best seat? I mean, we all have our favorite seats in a lot of situations. you already know if you prefer to sit at the front of the class or at the back; in the aisle or in the window seat of an airplane. How about at the movies? What is the best seat in a movie theater?

cinema seats: front or rear

Let’s settle this debate first. it’s safe to say the back is better. if you risk sitting in the front row, chances are your neck will start to hurt from looking directly at a movie screen. you don’t want to ruin your movie-going experience with a neck problem.

While the rear may be the safest option for comfort, experts say the middle row has the best seats. according to groupon, an ideal row at the movie theater is “the middle row and the four rows behind it, which is between one-half and two-thirds back.”

cinema seats: aisle or center

OK, now that we know we’re not sitting in the front or back, are we in the aisle or in the middle? sure, you get full screen in the middle, but you could also get “stuck” between groups of people crowding into the aisle seats next to you. what if the middle seats are the only ones left? Do you climb over people to get to them? you might get a beer like these people did.

There is not necessarily a right or wrong answer here. many moviegoers have different opinions on whether they enjoy the middle seat or the aisle. In Indiewire’s “Critic’s Poll,” film critic Eric John says, “No matter where I’m located in a theater, I prefer the aisle so I can get out quickly.”

on the other hand, chasing whales says, “for an audience: the standoff in the middle of the theater is ideal. it’s the central focal point and helps people with glasses focus better and not have to turn their heads into awkward positions to see the movie properly.”

It seems that deciding whether to sit in the aisle or in the center of the theater is based on personal preference.

cinema seats: accessible seats

For moviegoers who need accessible seating, large theater chains like regal entertainment group and amc theatres offer an accessible movie theater experience . according to the amc website, they “offer wheelchair seating in each auditorium” along with a companion seat next to it. amc theatres also offer assistive listening devices, captions and narration on their movie screens.

In the regal admission procedures, they say that their theaters are handicapped accessible. according to its website, “all seats designated ‘disabled’ with the familiar wheelchair symbol are reserved for the disabled and their companions.”

For more information on accessible seating, see the Americans with Disabilities Act Accessible Seating Standards.

cinema seats: they are no longer just seats

Get ready to get more comfortable with a new approach to theater seating! theaters across the country now fill their screening rooms with push-button reclining seats. The Wall Street Journal reported in 2014 that AMC theatres began updating their old, stagnant seats with comfortable recliners. big chains like regal and showcase cinemas soon followed and added their own reclining seats.

countries like switzerland have experimented with a different type of seat: a bed! My Modern Met reported that in 2019, Cine Cine Pathé opened its own VIP section where guests can lie down on double beds to watch a movie while wearing a pair of slippers on their feet. how good is that?!

Wherever you decide to sit in a movie theater, make sure the experience is comfortable and worthwhile for you!
