Chaos Walking Trailer Brings One Of The Year&039s Most Anticipated Movies
one of the greatest action movie directors is back with a great new movie. doug limen, the man behind mr. and mrs smith, edge of tomorrow and the identity of bourne has a new movie based on a series of best-selling books, starring daisy ridley and tom holland as leads. the recently released chaos walks trailer features some mind blowing concepts and really looks exciting. It helps that the leads are the likeliest favorite genre actors of the last 10 years. Not to mention some of the heavyweight supporting cast around them. the walking mayhem trailer has me hyped for this sci-fi action movie that has a very socially relevant premise.

The film is based on a series of best-selling books by Patrick Ness. the series is about a dystopian world where all living things can hear each other’s thoughts. the advancing chaos has a cool effect on how those thoughts are not only heard but also visualized. The history of the book series is quite interesting. the title of the film and series comes from a line in the book. the line tells how men who don’t have their thoughts filtered are just chaos walking around.
It’s a completely interesting premise and a unique concept. especially that the story in the trailer begins when a woman arrives in this world devoid of women. but one where she can see and hear the thoughts of every man around her. oh, it’s instant anxiety to even hear the premise, let alone watch it all unfold in the layers of this seemingly exciting plot.
the walking mayhem trailer is an awesome thriller if ever i’ve seen one
The chaos walking trailer is thrilling and totally replayable in the way it pulls you in. The trailer begins with a woman (Daisy Ridley) crashing into a planet in a ship. She quickly meets a young man (Tom Holland) whose thoughts she can instantly hear and see. by meeting others, she learns that this is ‘noise’, and how every man in this world has her thoughts, played out loud. one of these men (mads mikkelsen) also informs him that all women in this world are apparently all dead.
He’s clearly lying, and the entire atmosphere of the trailer makes it clear that there’s more to the story than what he’s being told. what happens next is a burst of images in which ridley and holland’s characters appear to be on the run from the rest of the men of this world. he apparently has a power, while she is the only woman who can see a lot of men’s thoughts which makes her an obvious threat. especially if they have something to hide, which is so obvious. There also seem to be powers involved, a village of women led by Cynthia Erivo and aliens. apparently thousands of aliens. she was on a ship in space, remember?
the premise of the movie feels like a statement

With everything that’s happened in the world after #metoo, the premise of walking in chaos feels a bit on the nose. I mean, a woman alone in a world full of men is one thing, but one where no man can hide her thoughts or intentions from her is quite interesting. Ridley’s character can gauge everyone’s true nature from the start, since they can’t hide anything from him. Who to trust, who to watch out for and who to stay away from is something you can find out immediately after meeting a new person. it’s a cool premise, and it’s very curious how it will be used to present conflicts in an interesting way and move the story forward in a sci-fi kind of way.
something that worries me about this new movie

When the trailer begins, it seems that the story of the film is focused on the character of the Kemp’s ridley sea turtle. the only woman among a world of men. clearly, she will either be the undoing of the status quo or reveal whatever they have to hide. the catalyst in the story, for sure. so it makes me roll my eyes a little bit when you start hearing about how holland’s character has an unknown power, that they can’t let out. I mean, this is just the trailer, so I don’t want to jump to conclusions. however, if this ends up being a story where the only girl in the movie ends up taking a backseat to the male character’s prominence… I’ll be a little upset. Especially when Ridley has been through something similar in the Star Wars sequel trilogy. yes i said it

In addition to the two main leads, Chaos Walking has an all-star cast. With the accomplished director Liman behind the screen, the film is already highly anticipated. But now add Mikkelsen to the cast as, what seems like, the film’s main antagonist, and you really have something. Nick Jonas, David Oyelowo and Erivo complete the cast, making it one of the most anticipated movies of 2021.
chaos walking was scheduled to release in January 2021, but the new trailer just says “coming soon”.
