Thuppaki telugu movie review

Release date: 13 Nov 2012 123telugu.com Rating : 3.5/5 Director : A.R.Murugadoss Producer :Shobha Rani Music Director : Harris Jeyraj Starring : Vijay, Kajal Agarwal

Vijay is a huge superstar in Tamil, but has a very nominal market in Telugu. He tried to venture into Tollywod with the film Snehitulu, but to his bad luck failed to capitalize. Now yet again, he is back with his Diwali release Thuppakki in the direction of creative genius Murugadoss. After some delay in its release, Thuppaki has manged to hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is. Story:

jagdish, who is a secret agent of the Indian army, arrives at his hometown during his vacation. His parents get him engaged to Nisha (Kajal Agarwal), and the couple begins to spend quality time together. when everything seems to be going well jagish visits mumbai. During their stay, a large bomb blast occurs and Jagdish hunts down the culprit and severely interrogates him. To his surprise, he learns that there are many more bombs that have been planted throughout the city. the rest of the story is how jagdish manages to chase down the other terrorists and save the entire city from great devastation.

points in favor:-

vijay is, without a doubt, the film’s greatest asset. unlike the mass image of him, he plays a mature character and carries it off with ease. he plays the role of him with a lot of conviction and is fantastic in the investigation scenes. his body language, comedy timing and his appearance are all perfect in thuppakki. Although Kajal Agarwal doesn’t have much to do in the film, he complimented Vijay very well at the dances. kajal is particularly good at google song.

vidyut jamwal is awesome as the bad guy. the scenes just before the interval involving the assassination of terrorists have been shot exceptionally well. the interaction scenes between the hero and the villain, and the mind games associated with them, have been exceptionally designed. some scenes in the preclimax are worth mentioning and make you freeze in your seats.

negative points:-

The chemistry between vijay and kajal is completely missing in this movie. all the romantic scenes, songs and tracks sometimes cause a big hindrance for the movie. the timing of the songs is also not up to par. the massive masala elements that the average moviegoer associates with a hero like vijay are missing here.

technical aspects:-

The music of the film is quite normal. As the combination of Murugadoss and Harris Jayraj are known for their foot-pounding music, it is completely missing from this film. the background score is quite good and he is exceptional in all the investigation scenes. santosh sivan’s camera work is good. the script is nice. some scenes between vijay and kajal could have been cut completely to make this movie more gripping. vijay’s dub is appropriate and fits the nativity well.

verdict:-

Overall, thuppakki is a movie where everything goes well. A stylish vijay, some exceptional thrilling moments, and edge-of-the-seat action make this movie definitely worth a watch. Finally, another Tamil hero can be said to have managed to capture the hearts of the Telugu audience.
