ram charan’s bruce lee is probably one of the most anticipated movies of the recent past. Directed by Sreenu Vaitla, this movie made big news for mega star Chiranjeevi’s cameo. After a huge round of promotions, the movie is finally out now. let’s see how it is.

karthi (ram charan) is a specialist who loves his family immensely and is willing to do anything for them. he even sacrifices her studies for her sister (kriti karbanda) and does all the right things to help her study.
The twist in the story comes when his sister faces some undue trouble from jayraj (sampath) and his son deepak raj (arun vijay). the rest of the story is how karthi saves her sister from this mess and where riya (rakul preet) appears in this whole montage.
First, let’s start with the mega star cameo. the legendary actor is a joy to watch on the big screen. Proceedings are lightened by Chiru’s entrance and credit must go to Sreenu Vaitla for showing him off in a forceful manner. his cameo is a delight for all mega fans as chiru’s presence on screen is simply amazing.
ram charan is a major asset to the film. From his dances to his fights, Charan has done an excellent job and carries the film on his shoulders. he is exceptionally good at all the emotional scenes with kriti karbanda. Charan’s chemistry with Rakul Preet is excellent and the couple looks stunning on screen.
with bruce lee, rakul has definitely made it to the top league. she looks beautiful as riya and has been styled superbly. the glamor of hers coupled with the fun act of hers is pretty decent. Sampath does a decent job in the negative role of her. rao ramesh has a habit of delivering great performances time and time again.
The first half of the movie is pretty decent and has all the necessary elements that will please everyone. Arun Vijay is excellent in his negative role and leaves a lasting impression in her debut film. he will be a good asset for Telugu movies if he has good roles.
The tempo of the movie drops drastically in the second half. After setting up the movie nicely up to the middle point, Sreenu Vaitla brings her typical comedic formula and tries to elevate the movie. but sadly none of the comedy episodes click and stretch the movie a bit.
lead actors like nadia and tisca chopra don’t have much to do in their roles and have been underutilized. the story of the movie becomes quite predictable and too many comedians spoil the fun to some extent. the narration takes a beating during this time as the proceedings get a bit slow until the entrance of the mega star.

thaman’s music is an added bonus as all the songs are excellent. its background score is also good and lifts the movie to a decent level. the way all the songs have been choreographed looks good and shows charan’s dancing skills. sreenu vaitla’s script is decent in the first half but drags during the second.
The camera work is top notch and it shows the film in excellent light. special mention deserves the way in which all the songs have been shot. the production values are good and so are the fights. coming to the director sreenu vaitla, he has done a decent job with the first half but he couldn’t narrate the second part in an entertaining way. however, he cleverly uses the mega star cameo and ends the movie on a positive note.
Overall, Bruce Lee is a decent family entertainer. Ram Charan’s mature acting, impressive songs and racy first half are solid assets. if you manage to sit through the average second half, you’re sure to love the mega star entrance at the end and leave with a smile on your face.
