“vakeel saab” is the most anticipated film of the year. Pawan Kalyan, who has also been dabbling in politics, returns to film after a long stint of three years. Amid high expectations, the film is here to captivate audiences.

let’s analyze.

story: vemula pallavi (nivetha thomas), zareena (anjali) and divya (ananya nagalla) are roommates and go to a party with the invitation of one of the girl’s friends, vamsi. At the party, Vamsi tries to pick on Pallavi and she hits him with a bottle. both boys and girls present cases to each other.

Satya Dev (Pawan Kalyan), a lawyer who has problems to deal with and demons to fight, takes over the girl’s case. nanda (prakash raj) stands up for the boys.

can vakeel saab win the case since all the circumstantial evidence is against the three girls?

Performances by Artists: For any actor, stepping into the shoes of a character originally played by legendary actor amitabh bachchan is a huge challenge. Pawan Kalyan, however, has played the role in his style, displaying his star charisma as well as an intense performance in the second half. he seems old enough to play the role of a student in the flashback episodes.

shruti haasan appears as pawan kalyan’s wife in a flashback episode.

nivetha thomas, who has proven her worth in several movies, has used her meaty role effectively exhibiting impeccable acting skills. as a pallavi, she leaves a strong mark. anjali and ananya fit her roles perfectly. Anjali gives a solid performance in a breakout sequence.

prakash raj as the lawyer nanda is exceptional as always.

technical excellence: unlike ‘rosa’, ‘vakeel saab’ is built on a higher budget. PS Vinod’s camerawork shines in the courtroom sequences. Rajeevan’s sets and overall production design are authentic and elegant.

thaman’s songs are apt for the theme. the song ‘maguva maguva’ has already been a hit on the charts. but her true talent can be seen in the background score.

Dialogue writing is neat. editing should have been crisp.

highlights: the message of the movie plots in court the star power of pawan kalyan

Drawback: pawan kalyan’s flashback unappealing blatant commercial elements unnecessary fights & political dialogues

analysis ‘vakeel saab’ is the official remake of the 2016 bollywood film, pink. the Hindi film was essentially a court drama. it was later redone with ajith in tamil.

While the core of the story is true to the Hindi version, the Telugu director Sriram Venu has also made many changes to keep Pawan Kalyan fans happy.

unlike the original movie, this one starts with the song “maguva maguva” which talks about the virtues of women and what the world would be like without them.

“vakeel saab” begins with three young women and how they ended up on a case. After establishing this point, Pawan Kalyan enters the picture as a lawyer with a drinking habit.

for about 20 minutes the movie switches between the three girls story and the pawan kalyan sequences and then suddenly goes into its flashback episode.

The flashback story is long and reveals what made him become a lawyer and how he met his wife (shruti haasan) and how she died. this part of the story may appeal to fans of pawan kalyan, but for the common audience it is quite boring.

Also, Pawan Kalyan also seems pretty jaded at this part. there are also many political dialogues that do not work very well.

Fortunately, the film hits the main “pink” point of the interval and doesn’t deviate further. it is the second half of the film that has worked well.

The film attacks the mentality of labeling women based on their identity and exposes the rules established by society for women.

Although the entire second half takes place in court, the director has made sure it’s an engaging show by adding some extra scenes and good dialogue between Prakash Raj and Pawan Kalyan.

We can look at this movie in two ways: either because it has openly watered down the strong message for commercial reasons, or as a great all-star movie that is also true to the original message. either way, “vakeel saab” is a decent watch.

Despite the aforementioned problems, “vakeel saab” is a film with a message in a commercial format. some portions have worked well, others have not. but he makes a perfect comeback for pawan kalyan.

end result:massive pink!
