The anime streaming service was the only major platform to simulcast Season 1 of the series last year outside of Japan. Also Crunchyroll, in association with Funimation, the team brought the film to theaters in North America and the UK in March.

That’s because Funimation is merging with its Crusty counterpart following its sale to Sony last year for $1.175 billion. from the spring anime slate onwards, all simulcast titles will be exclusive streams on the crunchyroll platform.
