Tamil entertainer Samantha and Shiva Karthikeyan, Seema Raja has been dubbed in Telugu under the same title. directed by ponram, now let’s see how the movie turns out.
seema raja(shiva karthikeyan) is a rich man who spends money like water just for his false prestige. on the other hand, in another town, krishnaiyya is a corrupt rich man who keeps creating problems between the two towns. This is the moment when Seema Raja falls in love with his daughter Lakshmi (Samantha). upset with this, krishnaiyya creates even bigger problems. The rest of the story is how Seema Raja solves all these problems and wins his love.
shiva karthikeyan is the biggest selling point of the movie. he has excellent screen presence and does well throughout the film. acting-wise, he did well in the two different tones he portrayed on screen.
samantha is top notch as the town belle. she looks beautiful and the chemistry of her with shiva is great and refreshing to see on screen. the flashback that comes during the second half is good. the visual effects work done on the scenes shown is very good. Soori conjures up a few good laughs here and there.
one of the main drawbacks of the film is the problematic script that is unstable and has no direction. the entire first half is storyless and the proceedings wander here and there just because.
The second half starts off well, but once again things spiral out of control and create trouble for the audience. Although Simran does a good job of playing him, his character is not well established and he runs out of steam after a while.
There are too many goofy scenes in both halves that could have been avoided. the songs keep coming one after another boring the audience.
imman’s music is disappointing and even more horrible was his background soundtrack, which was too loud. the camera work is top notch as the tamil places have been showcased in a beautiful way. the editing is pathetic but the production values are very good. coming to director ponram this is the third movie of him with shiva karthikeyan but this time things don’t work out for him. his script is weak and he has nothing new to show in the movie.
seema raja is a full tamil nativity movie. Although the concept looks decent, the boring storytelling and unnecessary commercial elements spoil the viewing experience for the audience. Except for the main couple’s chemistry and some comedy, this movie doesn’t have anything interesting coming its way. avoidable.
